Looking for suggestions for the weekend of March 2-4. Around the west Michigan area or surrounding states (Indiana, Ohio, Illinois). Not looking for northern Michigan at this time. Thanks!

Sometimes the simplest is the best. Just get a room -- a NICE room, like a suite, with a big jacuzzi tub. Something local. You don't have to drive a big distance.
decorate the room with candles, and order room service.

The weather probably won't help but what about a little camping trip. You can bring some food along and have a little picnic one day and it would be nice to just have you and your partner enjoy mother nature. Since it's in March, the weather will probably not adhere...
What about a quiet bed and breakfast somewhere? They are not too expensive and could provide a great relaxing vacation. I didn't know what to try at hotels.com but maybe this would help:
