Professional just means that you get paid for doing something. If you're good enough to play in a band, and get paid for it, then you're a professional musician. Try out for some bands and see what happens! I bet you're good enough. Just keep practicing as much as possible, and you will only get better, but you can still play, and get paid while you're practicing.

Post on craigslist.org... Get to know managers of bars and clubs... A lot of it is luck and charm (not just talent & hard work).
