Chiropractors don't specifically specialize in back problems. They more specialize in proper alignment of the spine. Your spine is your back, however, if your spine is out of proper alignment, more things than just your back may hurt. Chiropractors are Doctors of Chiropractic (D.C.) and are not actually M.D.'s which means they are unable to perform surgeries of any kind. They can refer you to a surgeon and they can perform certain therapies (non-surgical) but they cannot perform any surgeries themselves. They are not equipped or qualified.

They are not surgeons...... my chiropractor does more than help with back problems..... really any structural issues that you may have.... mine also addresses your nutrition.... nutrition or lack of can be the cause of many problems.... Did you know that your body has a natural defense when you are allergic to something.... your neck will get out of alignment on the right side

Chiropractors bring the musculoskeletal structure into proper alignment. Chiropractors change the position of your body and apply pressure to particular points along the spine that are not properly aligned. This results in a popping noise similar to the one created when you crack your knuckles. The noise is created by a change in pressure in your joints as gas bubbles are released.

They work with the bones in the body. My chiropractor would crack everything from my back to my fingers and toes. They are not surgeons.
