Your inner-self is correct. No it can not be trusted and as much as this will be subjected to disapproval, "cream rises to the top". Much like you would not make a mentally unstable street beggar the CEO of a large company which many people's lively-hoods rely.
Instead of asking "Who is the one who must be obeyed" since the question automatically depicts a submissive outlook (from a human sociological standpoint), ask "How can I be the one obeyed?!"

God first, then your parents then your inner voice. A husband and wife shouldn't have to obey each other, that sounds awful. Obey! That's what dogs do. I don't like those words in the marriage vows. It should be replaced with listen, comprimise, and be loving, adf caring. That sounds much better. After all, we're grown ups now. My husband isn't my boss or my daddy and vise- a- versa.

I don't really understand this question, but the only one I obey unquestioningly is God.

When your are little it's Mom or Dad, when you are older it's often the partner, when you are really old and feeble one of your children takes over the role.
