We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Heh...drew, where did you hear about that? I wrote an article on that exact subject in nearly those exact words.

To the rest of the world, we're going to form our own really awesome country over here and we're going to make sure that the government can't throw somebody in jail for no reason, not give people reason to start a revolution, kick anybody's butt who trys to hurt our citizens, make sure that people know how to support themselves in a healthy way, and let people do whatever they want within reason. by the way, our kids are going to have these rights too. So here's our constitution, read it and weep at how great we are.

Funny.................the Preamble says "PROMOTE" the general welfare! NOWHERE does it say PROVIDE for the general welfare! So maybe somebody can help me out and point to the part where it says that it's the responsibility of the United States Government to tax it's citizens in order to pay for Social Security? Medicare? Medicade? Welfare? Unemployment? And Universal Medical insurance????

In my opinion, the U.S. Constitution and the Preamble are the most perfect, well-thought out, meaningful documents anywhere in the world. I would not even attempt to re-write them, and I wish people would quit trying to f--k with the my Consititution!
