I know its hard, but have you considered trying the nicorette inhaler which is like a cigarette but its nicotine only without all the bad chemicals and tar. You can buy starter packs which can last up to a week, (depending on how much you smoke) and cost approximately £5 from chemists and good supermarkets. I have found this to be effective - and like you have decided to quit smoking. It has now been a week since I last had one and have found the inhaler to be effective for me.
A friend who has also stopped smoking told me recently that taking large doses of Vitamin C can also reduce the cravings.
Once you have decided to stop smoking, place the money that you would normally spend on cigarrettes into a jar - you will be amazed at how much extra money you will accummulate over a period of weeks! This will also act as an incentive to stay off them!

I used Nicoderm CQ. I haven't smoked in over 10 years.
If you want a natural cure, go buy an herb called "Lobelia". It not only tricks the body into thinking it has nicotene when it doesn't, but it also calms the body as you go through withdrawal.
Also, go buy 7 gallons of distilled water & use this for everything over the next week. This will pull the nicotene out of your system quicker.
Lastly, place such things as cinnamin sticks, celery sticks, hard candy, carrots around in the places you associate with smoking. Mine were-behind the steering wheel, when I was drinking coffee, & when I was on the phone.
Good luck!

Just stop. Now. Even if you just bought a pack. Throw it away. Throw away any matches and lighters, ashtrays, etc. Now that you don't smoke you have less in common with your friends. How are you going to spend time with them? What's more important, living without the lingering reality of lung cancer or friendship? If you choose friendship, then you won't be able to quit. Both my grandparents who smoked died at age 65 of lung cancer. Such a shame.
Also go you YouTube and type "stop smoking". Congratulations on your new life!

the more encouragement you can get from friends, family, health centre etc, the easier it becomes. join a quit club if poss or visit your Dr Surgery, if you can do a breath test every week [ like they give 2 asthmatics ] it is very encouraging to see how much better your lungs work week-by-week.
Having said that , after 35 yrs on 20-30 a day i finally stopped 14 months ago, after i collapsed at work with what i thought was a heart attack, scared the s**t outta me and i finally realised i wanted to live longer, it really is down to will power, but try it one day at a time, each time you feel tempted, tell yourself to wait an hour, the hardest part is to stop THINKING you want a f*g.
I wish you the very best of luck !

it is confusing to end: the unfavorable aspects do no longer seem to maintain on with until eventually the bypass to to the physician that confirms them. human beings smoke for the comparable motives human beings drink espresso or drink alcohol; to alleviate rigidity. After a quick time the physique needs the nicotine so the cigarette in basic terms makes them experience widely used. to invite somebody to end is looking them to experience undesirable for a number of days and on element consistently. people who do no longer could smoke have not got any theory how the strategies of a smoker works. My mothers and fathers smoked 20-30 an afternoon throughout the time of my formative years, even whilst i become in the womb. They nonetheless do. It wasn't a taboo prepare in the '60s and 70's. Mum now has a lung complaint and has switched to menthols (that are extremely worse for you as they provide an phantasm of protection and make you inhale deeper), dad nonetheless smokes 30 an afternoon, and that they are properly into their 60's now. Neither are obese, the two worked in bodily stressful jobs for some years. I have not got any proper well being matters: i become 9lb 5oz at beginning and am now 6'6" and 220 lbs, so no advance stunting. After being against smoking throughout the time of my formative years i found an equivalent 'raise' (weed) and no longer choose them. Smoking is undesirable for you, yet no longer for each individual. It in basic terms will advance the possibility of ill well being. yet whilst my mothers and fathers have been mountaineers ( a healthy, admirable pursuit to many) they could be in extra threat and spend additional money. it is all relative. in the event that they are chuffed and raise you with love, in basic terms be grateful. they are going to provide up in the event that they are in a position to.

If you are addicted it will be a problem to kick the habit. Everytime you have a urge to smoke you should try to drink a glass of water or chew a piece of gum. You also have to be strong around your friends and not give in to smoking when they are around.

Acupuncture is great for taking away the urge to smoke, and ive known people who have been hypnotised into giving up smoking, though everybody is different and it may not work for all.The best way is probably sheer willpower, and seriously wanting to give up.Keep yourself busy and practice deep breathing excercises.Good luck

Your not giving up anything, that will make you feel deprived, you are gaining clean lungs, more relaxed, not having to keep buying the cigs...Your brain picks up signals all the time sometimes it picks wrong ones, your programmed for ,food, air, water and if you add substance like nicotine it tell you you cannot live without it..THE ONLY WAY TO GIVE UP IS TO REALLY WANT TO DO IT AND STAY OFF THEM>>>
