There is evidence of water on Mars, right? So how do we know that our ancestors used to live on Mars, destroyed their planet with stuff like global warming, and moved to earth? we adapted, and all evidence of us moving hear was destroyed by water of something?

There's a detectable link between all life on Earth, so all life is related and have the same origins. The origins may have been Mars, but it wouldn't have been human at that point. It would have been something small and seemingly insignificant which came here. We all developed into who we are here on this planet and I agree it's about time we started treating it like home.

First of all, the evidence is not at all conclusive that there was water on Mars. Second, there is no evidence that a discovery that water once may have existed necessarily leads that higher life forms once existed on the red planet.

If we were to discovery bacteria or multi-celled organisms on Mars, that would still not give greater credibility to the existence of any higher life forms. There are still the questions of atmosphere, temperature, and lack of evidence from the two robot rovers and previous probes.

Mars is a groovy subject for great imaginations, but the true story of its previous inhabitants is quite sad. The secret of how they vanished goes back to a time, long, long, ago when the overconfident Martians attacked the sleepy civilation of Jupiter. They were annihilated by the vastly superior Jupiterians that flourished on the giant planet from 174,000 B.C. until 96,000 B.C.

That's not the same as saying that we did come from Mars.

You're right, we don't know if we came from Mars. The reason is that we have no evidence that we came from Mars. I mean, there's water on Earth, too. There's lots of good evidence that we are homegrown on Earth.

The evidence is overwhelming that our species originated, evolved, and has prospered on planet Earth. The idea that humans originated on Mars is an old Sci Fi story from the 50's and is just plain silly.

You mean that we evolved on Mars, came to Earth, and just happen to share the same DNA as all other life forms on Earth? Or did we bring everything else with us?
Not possible. We evolved here on Earth, and share a common ancestor with the other apes. Any theories must incorporate these known scientific facts.

Because Katie, there is no evidence that we were once advanced enough for space travel and then reverted to primitive cave-man status. Where are the cities? The spacecraft? The technology? It's not there. We started on this planet. All the fossils prove it. More science and less science fiction, ok?

Because there is overwhelming evidence that life, including humans, evolved right here on Planet Earth.

Because the pressure difference. If their bodies were adjusted to the pressure on mars they would have imploded when they came to Earth. Also there is the whole deal with the atmosphere being different. And the whole heat difference.

We don't know for sure, but with all the evidence for other things, and with the complete lack of evidence for such an idea, it shoots that idea right into the "damned unlikely" category.
