What was happening with the Native American women, while the women suffrage movement was taking place?

During the 1920's and/or women's suffrage period- their was great racial conflict. The KKK's racial beef was with the blacks in the south and to the north their targets found were Catholics and Jewish people. That is what I just read in Wickcyclopedia. I haven't found much about the Native Americans, but I have seen a television broadcast that showed how the Indians suffered much from white folks trying to stamp out Indian ways making Indian children leave their families and go to dreadful schools that would not allow them to speak their native tongue, how sad. I am of European descent and my Dad said I have some Indian in me. My Husband's Grandma -great or great great was full -blooded Cherokee.

This is just off the top of my head because I have not studied this exact Q.

I strongly suspect that suffrage meant very little to NA women because they were trying to merely survive. A political plum means nothing if you do not have enough food or decent housing or indoor plumbing.

The NAs of that period, as in the 1800s, were mistreated, ignored, and beat down. They were not allowed off the reservation, their little children were taken to be educated in white, missionary schools and some were removed to adoption agencies, never to see or know their true family.

This raises a question in my mind: Were NAs even allowed to vote at all (men and women)?
