Has a ball ever deflected off a referee & went in the goal?

It can't be. The ref is part of the field. If it bounces off him, it's a goal by whoever kicked it...

I don't know if a ref has ever scored a goal, but I have seen a ref get an assist. The US Mexico game earlier this month, a pass from the Mexican side bounced off the ref's legs and fell to Landon Donovan, who took the ball to goal and scored in stoppage time. I thought it was kind of funny.

Haha! Actually, ya! At a high school championships, the ref was standing right by the goal, and an offencive player kicked the ball and it smacked the ref in the back of the head, but it still went in!
