I know the Pens are looking to trade Ryan Malone to the Rangers for Peter Prucha, but I was wondering what New York thinks of this trade. Prucha is a 30 goal scorer but not physical really, and Malone is having an off year (aside from scoring a hat-trick last night against the Islanders), but will protect Crosby when need be. Please New Yorkers, have you heard anything on thsi trade?

Malone was a 20 goal scorer his rookie year...since then he has underachieved. Really inconsistent, two hat tricks this year to account for 6 of his 12 goals thats just not enough while playing on a line with Crosby. A lot of people in Pittsburgh still believe he can be a good player though...As a Pens fan I don't really know a whole lot about Prucha, but if the Rangers get Malone there could be benefits if he can figure out how to get over the wall it seems he has hit.

What is Prucha's contract like, is he a rent-a-player or is there more than one year on it?

Prucha's had a tough sophormore year, but his upside is much higher.

If the Rangers make the trade it will be for size at forward, but I think Prucha's gonna be a really good player. I wouldn't make that trade.

ryan malone is overrated, according to penguins fans, he has had off years in all of his years in the league. when will he reach his potential? when is his on year coming? until i see otherwise, i dont see any reason to trade someone like petr prucha for him
