I agree, let's start with Iraq.

Are you serious? Really.
1- You defend a nazi shirt (WHY am I not surprized?)
2- You remind me of a book that talked about "appearances above realities" of the old Right of the overdressed fifties.
3- You question smacks of so much cluelessness I am making a copy to keep for when I need a good laugh.
4-"So maybe we should start addressing the actual problems instead of simply covering them up so everyone feels good."
Ahem.
Religion fanatics? Liberal bashers? Hello?

I'm not so sure that only "lefty liberals" would take exception to what the swastika symbolizes. No, taking it away does not make the guy any less of a nazi or nazi wannabe.
Have a nice day!

That's a very good point.
But what happens when we apply that same principle to, say, the deceit that was perpetrated on good, honest Americans to push us into a bogus "war" in Iraq? Why is it, for example, that you're more concerned about addressing one "nazi" out of uniform than an entire administration of liars who have killed thousands and bankrupted America?

Well - if what you are refering to is true...
Then it is just people taking offense to a swastika... with good reason.
This is the process by which we make the world safe. We see prejudice and hatred and we point it out to our children and tell them that those people are mean and wrong.
It's nothing new. (And I don't think "the left" is the side that we need to worry about when it comes to prejudice and hatred.)

I wouldn't like a guy wearing a swastika t-shirt, just as much as I pity the fools wearing a Che Guevara shirt.
The former is quite insensitive, but if a guy wants to be a jackass, that's his right.
And I'm conservative.

Can't you discuss the issue without lumping all Liberals together with scorn?
The Swastika predates Naziism. It's a respected symbol in India. Howzabout THAT?

Gosh, I guess that means that the Secret Service and local police shouldn't have hustled away everyone who arrived at a Bush rally wearing a t-shirt they didn't approve of, right? Uh, right? Some were even arrested.

Your right. We should shoot the guy wearing the shirt and give him some democracy afterwards.
