Not too great......very boring & mundane, not to mention hot as h*ll!

Before you settle in, look around the mall/Walmart area on the northwest side of town. If you can find a place near there, it'll save you some driving later on, since the best shopping and greatest concentration of restaurants are there. Good points: the roads are wide and traffic isn't as bad as in a bigger city; tons of parks you'll enjoy if you have kids; a community college in town, plus a 4-year university nearby in Odessa (University of Texas, Permian Basin campus---UTPB.)

Sweltering hot and filled with people whose interests are limited to oil, football, and guns with a view of the world that makes the Taliban look like a bunch of open minded liberals. The only way they could be more right wing is to actually goose step and speak German.

lived there fof 13 years , weather is great if you like dry heat. it has the small town feel. its very spred out, went to san jacinto jh. played football 3 years. hope you like football !!!!!!!!!!
