You could get platys. In a 10 gallon aquarium you could keep five. They are sturdy fish and they come in a wide range of colours. Just make sure you get 2 females for every male (the pet store can sex them for you)

You can put in several combinations...if you want to make it a community tank...different varieties of tetras are nice (especially the Rummy Nose and Cardinals), you can also throw in 1 betta in there and they won't bother anyone else, and maybe some smaller algae eater like an Otocinclus or Chinese Algae Eater...goldfish are too plain though they are hardy fish but they can grow pretty big...I have several that looked almost koi sized in a 60 gallon and they started out as feeder fish but kept growing. If you do go with goldfish..don't mix tropical with them...the slime of the goldfish will eventually kill the tropical fish. You could also just get 2 bettas and put a divider in the tank. The options are pretty varied..just make sure the fish won't get too big or else a 10 gallon tank would be too small.

Who became into saying that those fish are equipped to 5 gallons? A 5 gallon tank isn't equipped to those 2 species, they'll take excitement in having some thing somewhat greater desirable. :) regardless of the undeniable fact that the subject is you like a minimum of 5 cories jointly to verify that them to be satisfied. in case you place 5 cories and four guppies in a 10 gallon, it may be extremely overstocked! :( Even the 4 guppies and 3 cories you have now could be overstocked by ability of 10% in a 10 gal. I fairly reccomend saving up somewhat greater for an more suitable tank (greater desirable than 10 gal), then they might have the room they prefer. Plus, you are able to upload much greater species in there with them if the tank is super adequate and you have lots greater flexibility so a techniques as adorning the tank. Plus they are much less complicated to look after because of the fact the pollutions in the water are not as centred as tiny tanks. Sorry that is incredibly not the information you wanted to take heed to. yet wish it facilitates! EDIT: yet another answerer mentioned you are able to totally believe the advice of a puppy save, it incredibly is unquestionably no longer actual! maximum puppy save workers provides you with incorrect assistance and say you are able to greater wholesome greater in than you incredibly can. that is risky for the fish. and that i do no longer say this gently, I paintings in a puppy save! in case you are able to 'totally believe' a puppy save worker then totally believe what I only mentioned, lol!

Mollies can grow as big as 5 or 6 inches! Penguin tetras are good aswell as platies, swordtail, panda corys (these are real small and cute, great to watch) Panda corys need to be in groups of no less than 4 but there small.

I have a male betta with my guppies aswell as penguin tetras, mollies and panda corys, dont have any problems what so ever.

Guppies now days are badly bred and they arent as strong as they used to be, they seem to just die off fast. There are some good qaulity breeders though that have strong fry.

I've got a 10 gallon guppy tank, I seem to lose one every now and then, but, if your water is ok, (don't overclean it) you may have too many of one sex, too many males and not enough females can be detrimental. Can you imagine one female and 10-15 males wanting to ... you know..do stuff.

I've also got FEMALE SIAMESE FIGHTER FISH with my guppies, they are nice looking (and they don't fight like the male ones) you can keep many together and they are fine.
They're quite funny too, because they get tired and have a rest on the bottom, and it looks like they actually lie down on the rocks.
I also have two baby platys in there. Guppies are the cleanest though, goldfish and suckerfish poo too much.
Best of luck, and have fun. :)

You can keep bettas and goldfish. I had a betta for three years and they are really great fish!!! Also, they don't need much attention... only about an hour a week. I used this website when I had Bob.
