to download vid's from utube
open 2 browsers
browser 1
- open to the video in youtube that you are wanting to download
- highlight the http:// you tube link in the address bar and then right click and copy it
browser 2
- open to http://keepvid.com/
- you will see a green strip - paste the http:// you tube link in to this section - then click the download button to the right
- once you've clicke the download button - you will see just below that a dark green strip with the following - ›› Download Link ‹‹ (.flv - Flash Video) - click on this link
- a window should open called File Download - click Save
- another window will open - in here - set the location you want to save your video to
example - My Documents/My Videos
- next - in the File Name section - type in the name of the file and make sure that you add .flv to the end of the file name
example - Hearts on fire.flv
- next click the Save button
to burn to dvd you will have to convert the image (check your dvd player to see which formats it will play - example - .avi format, .mpg / .mpeg format, .flv format etc)
if it will play a .flv format then you won't have to convert the file
you can use Riva flv encoder to convert the file or Moyea (note: the free version of moyea leaves a "watermark" in the middle of the video - if you don't want a watermark then you will need to purchase moyea)
Riva encoder download site:
http://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifehack/convert-flash-video-flv-to-avi-avi-or-mpeg-mpg.html
or Riva (encoder) website:
http://www.rivavx.com/index.php?encoder&L=3
Moyea FLV to video converter download site:
http://www.moyea.com/download.htm
once the file is converted - use your burn program (such as Nero, Roxio, Sonic etc.) to burn to dvd

Who said you can't download youtube's videos? Almost everything is possible, even with things we thought it couldn't be done. Have we tried all the methods? Certainly some people don't. Here's how:
Youtube using FLV format for its video. And I'll give you at least 2 ways to download the videos:
1) go search for Youtube Spider 2.0, it allows you to search or download videos from youtube.com . Also you can organize your favorite lists; or you can convert FLV videos to MPEG. It decreases the time for searching videos. It supports 8 different languages.
2) use IDM (Internet Download Manager (at www.internetdownloadmanager.com) to download it. Before you download the videos, we must add the FLV extension into the IDM file list, so whenever you click on the video, IDM will sense that file extension is in its list, it will catch that file and download it for you. It's very very fast. I would recommend this download manager to anyone who's downloading a lot of stuff at the same times, but don't have time to sit around and wait. Now, what are you gonna do with the videos you downloaded with IDM, since no other video player can play it, of course, use YouTube to convert it to MPEG format and save it for later usage :)

Since YouTube hit it big, streaming movies and music have gone positively bananas. But such online media has a major flaw: You can't download it to your desktop and save it forever. However, here's how you can download streamed-media offerings of various types.
Record flash-based video (like YouTube and Google Video files) with KeepVid.com (http://keepvid.com/). Just enter the video's URL, and KeepVid converts it into an FLV file you can download. To play the file, use software such as VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). Better yet, convert the video to an .avi, .mov, or .mp4 file by visiting the FLV Online Converter (http://vixy.net/). These sites and programs are free.

If you have Mozilla Firefox you can download a "download center" and a little dancing man appears in the corner. If the web page contains any video type content it will allow you to download it to your computer. Then from there you can get it on to a DVD type disc.

Videos on Youtube are being encoded in DivX format. You can download videos and burn them onto blank CD and if your DVD player supports DivX playback they will play fine. If your DVD does not suport DivX playback then you have to re-encode the videos to DVD format. If you select that you want to create a DVD video DVD within your burning software and then drag your videos to it, it will automatically burn them in DVD format. However the resolution wont be as good due to divx to dvd conversion.
