I am getting started on the internet and don't know which is the best way to do it. It seems to me that doesn't matter if I choose talk talk or other supplier I will always have to pay at least £11 on top of their price to have the BT line instaled. Is it true? please advice

Talk Talk is a good supplier, they have some good deals and at the moment i would recommend them...
Don't know what you mean re £11 for a BT line installed ! If you need a telephone line installed then only BT can do this for you but its gona cost you more than £11... if you mean your line rental then NO YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY BT, go with talk talk and you'll only pay them, for your telephone & broadband deal, once its all set up you can forget BT.

If thats the way you do eventually go and get rid of your commitment to BT then expect some grovelling "you must come back to us" letters in the post from them, I'm still getting mine but its far cheaper with Talk Talk.

Good luck

I have had a number of broadband suppliers in my time but the one I use now is the sky broadband service which I believe offers excellent value.

Basically, if you get the cheapest Sky package which costs £15 a month you can also get free Sky broadband. Considering that many broadband suppliers charge you at least £15 a month for just the internet connection this is a real bargain as you will also be gaining several digital television channels too.

Telstra's 14.95 offer is misleading, and all their packages and clauses are confusing and effectively no cheaper than anyone else.

For any 512 kbps package you're looking at around 40 bucks a month give or take. If you get any cheaper then look into the smallprint.

I went with AAPT becuase they have no contract period & they supplied all the gear for free.

Other will know more than me though, so I'm prepared to be flamed!!!!!!

Get rid of BT altogether and get a package from Telewest. Lan connection, no dial up. I pay £17:99 monthly and thats it. No hidden charges, they also do TV and phone as part of the package if you want. Look them up on google to compare packages.

You have to have a broadband enabled BT line to your home, it will cost you £30 per quarter rental for it.
There are a great many providers, google for them and you will be taken to a comparison site.
