ABSOLUTELY. Who ever gave the government the authority to tell me what I can or can't GROW on MY property to ingest into MY body? America's drug laws evolved through RACISM and USURPATION, that's how. Fact, not opinion.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem!

Sure, but potheads will never get the energy to get out and work for legalization or even to vote
It may as well be legal now as the law isn't interested in users just dealers and traffickers

Think of how many billions of dollars our country spends on drug control. If they leagalized it or at least de-criminalized it they would save so much money. Also if the governement took control of producing it they could make it as expensive as they wanted and tax it like crazy. It is a natural plant that has been proven to have less harmful effects than alcohol. When was the last time you opened the paper and it says stoner crashes into a building...not very often, alchohol everyday It is a natural part of this earth that god put here. God never put alcohol on the earth we created alcohol. My vote leagalize it

As a juvenile...I did try marijuana once however it was nothing special in my opinion. I didn't like the fact that I wasn't sure what I was doing nor having control over my body to stop what I was feeling.

When reading about ALL the research on marijuana from CREDIBLE sources...like smoking cigarettes or excessive drinking there appears to be more bad than good associated with its use!

Speaking from a point of view where I work....I've seen the results of illegal drug use for about 30 years now. I'll agree that we can say some drugs have more problems than others...yet we neglect to look at the differences between short and long term use.

If a lawyer tells me I'm healthy....well....what does he know? Yet if a doctor tells me I'm healthy....I'd be more prone to listen to him than the lawyer when it concerns my health.

We do the same thing when listening to peers say "Ah there's nothing wrong with it"....yet...they're not doctors therefore their opinion means nothing to me!

As for "taxing" etc....the expenses of health care for cigarette smoking alone are astronomical....yet some want to add marijuana to the list? Just think of the taxation to assist the lungs of serious users in a generation or two!

As for those who insist marijuana has never "killed" anyone....those are fools who never research their misled sources of information. There are too many deaths associated as "secondary cause" due to illegal marijuana intoxication. Whether drunk from alcohol or marijuana....it's improper use is dangerous!

Hope this helps from the point of view of a non-user!

Best wishes!

'Legalizing" it no.

Decriminalizing it yes. But I think all drugs should be "legal" and controlled along with prostitution.

Prohibition was PROVEN to not work and it directly led to the formation of the mafia and their rise to wealth and power.

The same thing has happened with drugs.

And when my son was a teen it was easier for him to get street drugs than alcohol. The reason? Most store owners do not want to risk their livelihoods by selling to a minor. A drug dealer is already breaking the law so doesn't care if he sells to an adult or child.

As far as the argument about pot being a "gateway" drug. What crap! Life is a gateway drug and if you are going to be a worthless heroin addict you will do it with or without it being illegal.

Wake up America, the war on drugs is as futile as the war on terrorism.

I would vote in favor if the taxes on it were so high that it would drive users away like it did for cigarettes. Also a $5 tax on a bottle of beer would reduce use and save lives

i'm against it simply by fact i'm specific it won't be in a position to be effectively regulated. you notice, pot could be grown via human beings at abode. What began out as an common mildly intoxicating substance that lots of folk used to smoke inclusive of lots of the Founders of this u . s ., has now been selectively bred and bypass bred and and genetically altered to grow to be a much extra powerful drug. Then, human beings additionally technique it extra to create cannabis and much extra to create organic THC. in assessment to tobacco or booze, your prevalent individual won't be able to enhance or distill those ingredients themselves. yet marijuana is a weed. basically plant and water. Little danger of gathering any tax gross sales or effectively regulating its performance or retaining it out of the palms of minors. there is likewise the question of ways regulation enforcement ought to effectively confirm if a individual working a motorized motor vehicle or different risky equipment is below the effect of it or no longer. All in all i think of it relatively is a silly circulate to legalize it. i think of the linked expenses to society will skyrocket no longer cut back. *

First I should say that drug use is stupid. People who do drugs, or rely on tobacco or alchohol, are weak.

Having said that, I believe that there will be drug users/abusers no matter what laws are in effect. So I say legalize it all including prescription medications.

Sit back and watch the market price fall. Let all the criminal activity dissipate.

Will innocent people die because someone got high and did something stupid. You bet. But that already happens.

Just make the penalties for causing motor vehicle crashes (etc...) punishable by death. Since they don't respect other people's lives why should we respect theirs?

You should vote for legalization if you don't care about the following complications from marijuana. I have tried it and understand how it can impair you.

1) The chemicals from marijuana are stored in your fat cells and can be released decades later causing unexplained depression.
2) More impaired drivers will be on the road causing accidents.
3) It will be more easily obtained for teens then it is now and we will have more impaired teen drivers on the road. Not to mention More kids lacking motivation to further their education and become responsible contributing adults.
4) Because it would legal people can buy more of it causing more impairity. Not to mention more new users.
5) More addicts formed who move from marijuana to other drugs after experimenting. I have personally never known any one person who only used marijuana exclusively. I was involved in a lot of partying in my haydays.
4) Our hospitals and health care providers (especially county funded by tax payers) will be treating more people with complications like cancers and respiratory ailments.
5) More unplanned pregnancies among teens and adults due to impaired judgements resulting in more abortions or unplanned kids being raised by single parents or irresponsible parents.
6) More kids being raised by impaired parents who neglect their kids in a variety of ways resulting in extremely dysfunctional kids who grow up to be extremely dysfunctional adults.
7) Tax dollars being spent on newly formed regulatory agencies. Plus drug agencies at county, state and federal levels to regulate marijuana because IT IS A DRUG.
8) More government programs such as Medicaid, Social Security, and Education being cut off from tax dollars being diverted to newly formed Marijuana agencies.

Even though I am a non-user, I would still vote yes for its legalization. However, you realize it would still probably cost a lot to purchase.
