Hey there everyone. I saw this article posted on Yahoo! Homepage and want everyone's input. What do you think about this article? Do you think this is a very important, but overlooked issue, or not? Any input is greatly appreciated.

I agree. Censorship is needed, but that clashes with freedom of expresion garunteed in the bill of rights. Our society has created a 'standard' of sexual appeal. If it's not appealing it won't sell. The damage is done to those young women who see themselves as inadequite compared to this, and especially by men who look at this and deem other women not 'good' enough.

I think it is important, and disgusting that companies feel the need to use sexual implications, however they may use it, in their advertisements.
The product must suck if only sex can sell it.
What does that say about the general public too? I find it insulting that "a sexy babe or guy" is what they think will get me to try their product.
I have a 9 yr old and she is already trying to "Be Sexy" from what she sees on TV and hears in music. She wonders if she is too fat.
But I do take responsibility for that as well since I should better monitor what she is being impressed by. Punch Much is a DEFINITE NO!
I'd like to see more about the product, song, ect. Then to see what sex symbol is selling it.

It is a problem that the American comsumer created.
If there wasn't a demand for it there wouldn't be a market for it.
I mean how is anyone going to sell something nobody wants to
buy. Instead of going after the people that is selling sex and their
product with sex we should go after the people that is buying it.

I think parents who let their little girls focus so much on sexy clothing will pay for it with pain, both their own and their daughters.
if YOU are a designer/retailer of such clothing and articles and music and you have a daughter. You are to be SHAMED!

I chose to have no children. But if i did.... i would know enough to not be involved in creating such SMUT for children.

This kind of thing makes me want FEDERAL CENSORSHIP.

This is not the first time that it has been brought up and people still pay no attention to it. The fact that males still dominate society is what makes this an issue.
