I know how the 3rd Hokage got rid of Orochimaru's arms so he wouldn't be able to do anymore jutsus, but did his arms start to work when he switched bodies? I assumed that the 3rd sliced Orochimaru's soul so even if he transfers his soul to another body, his arms would still be useless. In the most recent chapter where Orochimaru appears, I can't even tell if he used his arms at all

he got them working when kabuto fixed them w/ his ninjutsu. sooo... yes they do work.

Yes in episode 88 he and till 100 and something he takes over this guys body he still Looks like himself. Um he is able to use his arms. See the Hokage dies before he can do anything but you know "Kill" Orochimaru's arms. But he switches body's and his arms don't feel like there burning anymore. So he can do jutsus and everything.

In think he takes over their soul to or something. Cause I believe his arms work in the anime after he switches bodies, but I dont think they explained why. I don't read the manga cause I hate ruining the story. So I read it afterwards to see the changes. But, then again, he may switch bodies, and since its a new body, he may not feel the pain or something...I dont know for sure. He may also be able to mold chakra in another bodie and make is arms move that way too. And Im sure that he'll appear in the anime soon, they started the new series finally. Then there may be some answers.

Yes. He transferred into another body. He was hoping to get Sasuke's body, but they were taking to long. Orignally he want the guy with the special bloodline allowing him to extrude his bones, but he got sick. Since Orochimaru had to settle for someone other than sasuke, he has to wait 3 years before he can do it again. Which leads to the time gap and so forth.

Eventually, he does switch bodies and his arms work again (or at least, in the anime episodes I've been watching in Japaneese, it appears as if they do).

In a certain way, his arms are working even a bit.
but i think he can't use it unless a medical specialist heals him (like Tsunade)
