If you are serious about creating websites for your business, don't go for free webhosting as they are not reliable and you may end up losing all your work. They usually put ads on your websites and it could be annoying.
If you intend to create a few websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website), go for multiple web hosting where you could handle your websites in one account.
I suggest following webhosting , they are quite good.
Hostmonster http://www.anurl.com/?PQMRY
They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 200000 MB (200 GB ). They only charge $4.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
Visit the site to check details.

Following site is quite good to register domains as price is reasonable with free privacy. Some charge about $5/ year just for free privacy.

Domain names are never free.
However, many webhosts offer what are called "subdomains". They look something like:
http://YOURSITE.someserver.com
With YOURSITE being your websites name or your username, and someserver is the place you're hosted at. There are lots and lots of free servers out there, subdomain or not.
I would suggest checking out http://www.free-webhosts.com/
They have quite a few listed, and have a search where you can specify exactly what you want the server to have.

First I would set up the website , try http://www.terapad.com/net , its free and your site will be up and running in minutes. Then when you are ready buy your domain name. I use enom.com . For example my webpage is http://justindean.terapad.com and my domain name is http://www.justindean.com . They both work.
