Was he a little off or what? Obnoxious? Is he always this way?

He's always been rather odd but today he was over the top. The sunglass routine wasn't funny in the least and he kept cutting Joy off like he didn't want her to get a joke at his expense. The I have a scrotum wasn't worth the effort to say it. I think everyone has their time to shine in life and his time ended years ago. I don't really find him that funny anymore. It was like he was trying to hard and it didn't work.

I don't remember him being this annoying back in the 80's. Maybe all the drinking he did back then mellowed him out and people liked him better. That would explain how he became an alcoholic.
