One of the reasons I enjoyed having Yahoo as my home page was the lively 'discussions' at the end of each article.

Now, Yahoo news is the same as any other newpaper or web online. The inability to 'respond', as all Americans love to do, leaves Yahoo news just as insipid as all the rest.

Yes, I understand that, many of the responders were rude and crude but, many were not. In a democracy you communicate with the citizenry you have not the citizenry you wish you had.

I believe that they just don't want the headache, complaints or liability...since it was free, they have that right.

There are other sites that you can post opinions on...the online version of the British "Economist" magazine is one that deals with worldwide issues.

I agree with you but I also saw some of what was posted and it was pretty sickening. I wonder how many were children 13 to 18?
