Stay away!!! Never ever get into a situation where you are alone with this student. Do not pay any special attention to her. I would discuss the situation with the principal maybe she can be taken out of your class. I would definately let the principal know now so if there is any problems in the future it doesn't look like you have been trying to hide things.

Stop judgeing her.Don't give up on her.U really don't know the whole situation w/ her life.Cicumstances may make things hard for her but the goal is to learn the subject so that she comes out ahead w/ a A+..... You wanted to be a teacher but not every student learns the same

If you have a female colleague that you can trust, have her present when you confront the student about the student's behavior. In the event that this is a misunderstanding on your part, it will save her the embarrassment that would have been yielded by bringing her parents into the mix. Also, her parents might be offended by your suggestion--especially if you're wrong--that their daughter is interested in more than the knowledge you have to pass on.

I would say DO NOT GET HER PARENTS INVOLVED.

Kids tend to do that sometimes, you just need to nipit in the butt. I would definitely have a talk with the principal, change around her schedule, etc. I think that getting the parents involved is over-kill for sure.

Good luck with it.
