--If you are talking about the god of the churches, that teach the obscene idea of hellfire, then you do not have reference to the God of the Bible---he is not a pervert or a Jekyell or Hyde personality!

--A principle that shows that God would not use any perversion adopted by humans, neither lies or obscene acts or ideas:

(Numbers 23:19-20) "19 God is NOT (my caps)a man that he should tell lies, Neither a son of mankind that he should feel regret. Has he himself said it and will he not do it, And has he spoken and will he not carry it out? 20 Look! I have been taken to bless, And He has blessed, and I shall not reverse it."

--In the disgusting Inquisition of over 500 years by the religious perverts , when burning the many alive , they were indeed given confidence by the obscene teaching of hellfire!
--They would have loved it if God changed his disposition to be like them as this text shows how many of the faithless Israelites wished:

(Psalm 50:16-19) "16 But to the wicked one God will have to say: "What right do you have to enumerate my regulations, And that you may bear my covenant in your mouth? 17 Why, you-you have hated discipline, And you keep throwing my words behind you. 18 Whenever you saw a thief, you were even pleased with him; And your sharing was with adulterers. 19 Your mouth you have let loose to what is bad, And your tongue you keep attached to deception."20?You sit [and] speak against your own brother,
Against the son of your mother you give away a fault.
21?These things you have done, and I kept silent.
You imagined that I would positively BECOME(my caps) like you.
I am going to reprove you, and I will set things in order before your eyes.

--Your question should indeed be aimed at the false religions that teach what you think God approves of!

How you live your life here and now is what will torture you. Nothing else and no one else. It is all in your own life, the decisions you make for others, as well as yourself is the judgement of your future; not one else will live your life for you.
What you decide on now and in the future of your life is what will send you to hell and torture you, or send you to God's Kingdom and you will never know pain again.
So....you pick God's way, or the way of the world. If you pick God's way then you are in a minority, but you will have made the decision to let God rule your life.
If you pick the way of the world then you go with the rest of the world to hell.....and you don't come back!
So pick one. Then live the consequences. The consequences can be heavenly or hellish, depending on what you decide. Not God, you.

The one who tortures you in hell. God gave us a handbook, the Bible, to follow. He does not expect us to be perfect. He knows we cannot. We are human. When we ask in faith believing for our sins to be forgiven and then live as right as we can by the Bible we will make it to heaven. God has given us free will. We make a choice to be saved and be able to go to heaven when we die, or turn our back on what is right and end up in hell when we die. It is our choice, therefore we either send ourselves, so to speak, to heaven or to hell.

you are solely responsible for your own action....man was given free-will to chose right from wrong. your torturer in hell does what you have requested of him by you actions. the one who send you there because of your own doings suffers as well. the Almighty's heart suffers with you.

relate it to the hypothesis of a mother and son ; her son is imprisoned for killing a person . she grieves for him because he is her child and she loves him still. she also grieves for the victims of her sons action, over which she had no control.

the one who tortures and the one who sends are the same. Satans trickery sends one to hell and he is the one who will do the torturing along with one's self who has been "brainwashed"

Since anyone who winds up in hell sends himself there, I will
leave that answer to the one who is sending you there.

You make a choice about what you believe and therefore where you will "go" when you die. If you believe you will be "sent" to some sort of damnation, then you will.
