So people can stop talking about it and the Yankees can concentrate on winning.

Sad but true, Tommy D.But you'd think Steinbrenner or Cashman would step in and say, enough already. It's like Jackson and Martin all over again, without threatening to kill each other.

Mastermind,I personally NEVER said this,I'm just reading what's in the papers.I'm not assuming anything. How about getting YOUR facts straight.A-Rod is better off not saying anything about it to these imbecile reporters. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever heard any stories about the '72 A's? If so, you have your answer. If not, read some and you'll have your answer.

I think people and the media make too much of it.
I don't hang out every night with people I work with either, should we fire employees who aren't best friends? I know, let's fire all reporters who don't get along with other reporters...
The media just wants to sell stories, it doesn't matter whether it's even relevent to baseball. Jeter and A-Rod share a common goal, winning a championship. Anyone who says that they sabotage each other from winning because they are not best buddies is an idiot. Even if they are both selfish (especially if they are selfish), they know enough about baseball to know that someone has to play the position filled by the other person and if you asked them to choose someone to fill a position on their team they would request the best available player - no matter who it is.
As long as George spends that kind of cash, the media will blame the players and create a story twist to explain why they didn't win it all. And when the uninformed media cannot comprehend that you start a season with a 1 in 30 chance to win it all and the other teams are not going to lay down and quit just because your team costs more, they choose to blame the players instead of giving a little credit to a team that beat them.
It's almost like the media is working the season backwards when it comes to the Yankees... The media has already handed out the World Series trophy and are just waiting to write a story about how Jeter and A-Rod gave to another team who doesn't deserve it.
I'm not even a Yankee fan and I think this whole thing is BS and has nothing to do with playing baseball. And I'm tired of lazy reporters who try to induce a story like this instead of taking the time to learn a little something about baseball and writing something relevent to the sport.
Hopefully, Jeter and A-Rod are smart enough to realize that the media needs to create a version of T.O. for baseball so they can sell headlines.

I totally disagree with you. Do you really follow baseball at all? Or are you just an amateur? If you really knew, than you wouldn't ask this question at all.
Just because people talk about the "feud" that doesn't exist, doesn't mean that one should be traded away. They are both future hall of famers any way you look at it. You don't trade superstars even if they are not getting along. How can you even consider it?!
This is nowhere near the Billy Martin/Reggie Jackson situation. Those two were meant to hate each other. Who says A-Rod and Jeter hate each other? NO ONE!
Get your facts straight, watch more baseball, and you will see the light.

Nobody is going to take A-Rods contract and there is absolutely no way that the Yankees are going to trade Jeter. You can spend all the money you want to replace guys like A-Rod on a team, but Jeter is the heart and soul, you can't replace that.

They will only trade A-rod because Jeter is a life long Yankee if they fall out of contention or A-rdos Batting average goes below the mendoza line

Great question. They would have a better chance at a championship with Arod at SS and Jeter gone. They will not do this tho so all the Yankee haters end up winning.

watch the video of a-rods comments if you can...a-rod is kidding when he asked the reporters to stop asking him about jeter...they get along fine, but for whatever reason their relationship is "not as good as it used to be"...and believe me if the yankees don't win a championship this year they will get rid of everyone except for jeter and a few others and start over

Honestly, I understand how Alex feels always hearing the same question, but he should simply stop making any comments on the subject and he would save himself and Derek a lot of hassle.

Nobody said they don't get along, A-Rod said their formerly good friendship has "cooled."
No matter, trading either of them would hurt the team. If they did trade them they wouldn't get anything of value to keep their team moving in the same direction. THAT is why the Yankees don't trade one of them.

You don't trade the captain of the Yankees. The best shortstop in baseball. And you don't trade the best third baseman in the game either. Anyway Deter Jeter will NEVER be traded. He will always be a Yankee.

Is it me or is everyone misinterpreting the story? Alex and Derek do not hate each other. They simply aren't best friends. Like Alex said they still root for each other and have the same goals, they are able to coexist this isnt a Shaq-Kobe relationship. They do not hate each other they just aren't as tight as they used to be.
