How did you decide who should lie on which side, did you chose the UK right hand drive or the US left hand drive. And will you every swap over?

Well it depends. If you're married or atleast living with your partner, then it's probably going to be decided with a simple discussion but could result in a small argument. For instance; I would base the side I slept on to what side I'm comfortable on. My lover might decide she wants to be on the side closest the bathroom door, so that she can just roll out of bed and into the shower or to the toilet. If the side I'm more comfortable on is also the side closest the bathroom, well an argument could arrise but I would probably give in and let her choose her side first. Because it's all about give and take in a relationship. If giving up my side of the bed for her will make her happy, and making her happy will lead to me being satisfied while I'm in that bed, then guess what? I'll be more than happy to swap sides with her. LOL
That's the bottom line!
I prefer the left side of the bed, meaning she sleeps on my right, laying face up on the bed. Because I'm right handed and it's easier to rub her with my right hand than it is with my left. I also like to put my arm under her neck and pull her close so she's laying on my chest at times. That's just comfortable.
If we get passionate and move all around in the bed, when we're done, she usually ends up on my right and me on the left.

It all depends on the preferences of the people in the bed.
For my boyfriend and I we decided based on comfort. If were laying in the bed on our backs, I'm on the left side. It works for us because I'm right handed and he's left handed. We enjoy cuddling so its comfortable for us. If your both left handed or both right handed then that wouldn't really work for you. You can decide other ways too though. Like who wakes up first, then their on the side of the alarm clock. Or who gets out of bed the most, then their on the side closer to the door/bathroom. Or you could use the old standby; the guy sleeps on the side closest to the bedroom door.
The best thing is to have a conversation about it before you move in together and work it out. It's better to work it out sooner then later so it wont cause problems in the future.
