When I called eMachines, they couln't solve the problem, and my 1 year warranty is expired. It was working fine and I turned it on and it tried to start up but then I get a message that a file isn't found. I do not have the computer assembeled, so I don't know the error message. But the restore disc doesn't even run on it. I can't get it to run, either could tech support. I need the photo's that are in the hard drive. I just hate to spend so much to have it looked at in case it can't be repaired. Do you guys think that this problem is repairable?

Without some sort of error message or, at least some reference to what the screen is showing (or NOT showing) there's not much anyone can help you with.

However, you can relax somewhat, if all else fails, you can remove the hard drive and connect it to another computer to save your photos.

THis is a guess, but I've seen this a lot. Check your floppy drive to make sure that there is no disk in it. Pull any disks out and reboot. See if this corrects the problem.
