I had that problem for years.I took a mind control course.Silva mind control.read some positive think books and applied the methods.I now meditate.to be a better & calmer person.I now think before I speak, BUT. if someone angers me, I WILL tell them about, but I don't holler and get all upset, your supposed to let people know the boundaries that you set.if they push it. I will let them know again, to stop what their doing that's upsetting me. if they keep on I usually hit them.I know karate, wrestling and boxing,so I can control &handle the situation even if theirs a gang on them.They made up a nickname for me in my neighborhood and made up a song about me about how Bad I am.But. I never hit first unless they get all in my face.and I always handle the situation and not let it handle me.I am a man.
and also allowing the spirit of God to guide me has helped me with a lot of things in my life.encluding my anger.

When something starts to piss you off, DO NOT SAY ANYTHING. Imagine all your anger in the center of your body, and take deep breaths. On the inhalation, collect all the anger. On the exhalation, imagine forcing it out from your body where it dissipates.
If you're constantly getting angry cut caffeine and get more sleep. Works wonders.

Take a deep breath, tell the person you need a minute to cool down, and go for a walk. Think about why you're upset and try to think about what happened through the other person's point of view. Could you or they have misinterpretted what was said?
Come back and say your intension is not to get into a fight or to hurt the other person. Say I was (hurt, scared, angry) when you did/said this.... Next time please do/say this instead
Hopefully, they'll apologize, and you can too if you need to.
Then kiss and make up. =]
