I have a furnace that heats my hot water.?

Question

the funace coil heats the water via a coil and then is stored in a small tank and then continously heats water as needed . My problem is the water comes out scalding hot for 3 min and then ice cold for about 10 minutes before it heats up again Any idea what the problem could be?

There could be something wrong with your thermostat. I'd check that first. Could be the burners are bad also. I'd have a heating and cooling guy look at it.
