No, of course not. Although some dark things have happened in the series, the Harry Potter books are still a children's series. It would be unheard of for the main character-- especially a character who is basically still a kid-- to be killed in this situation.

And regarding Rowling not wanting the movie makers to profit from her character when she's no longer making new books, she owns the rights to Harry Potter. No one can profit from the character without her saying it's okay.

i'm still hoping that somwhere in her J.K>Rowling doesn't have the heart to discontinue the series...i mean, how are we going to know what happens to all the other characters if she ends it at book 7.

though i don't mind if harry dies...i'm not a big fan of him any way. i've also heard the whole horcrux thing, and it makes perfect sense...guess we'll all just have to wait until july... :(

Nobody knows. JK has said many things check it out:

See if she doesn't kill off Harry then people will write sequels and JK doesn't want that. If she does kill Harry nobody can do anything about it. And Daniel Radcliffe really wants to do a DEATH scene.

yes, jk rowling wants to discontinue the book and doesnt want the movie makers to make money while continuing the movie series and so she kills him off in the book.

I think he will. Not because its better for the books or the story but because JK Rowling is a selfish bit*ch.
