how do you be happy? and when you think you're happy, how come it still doesn't feel like it's enough? can you be happy with someone? i always thought you can't make someone happy, they have to be happy by themselves but thats not how everyone else thinks. My life is so hectic right now (university, working, boyfriend, family, etc) and I don't know how to keep myself happy.

I think when you are content with where you are, who you are , and what you are doing you'll find happiness. If you are always looking at your neighbor and wishing you had what they had or doing what they are doing you'll never be happy. Enjoy who you are and you'll be happy.

Happiness only lasts a short time because it is dependant upon a "happening". When something good happens in our lives we are happy. The problem is that the happy feeling wears off. An example would be a new car. It makes us happy when we first get it, but after a year or so we are not as happy as we were at first.
What you are really looking for is joy. Joy does not depend on a happening.

Happiness is just a word... what it means to you is the answer... If I were to say to you define the word Love... what would be your answer? and if you were able to agree with your answer then wouldnt you be able to seek out what Love is for you? being happy enough or happy with someone comes from your ability to accept what you have define as happy... you might have too much on your plate right now and therefore need to step back and clarify what is most important for your life right now... dont sweat the details.... your purpose will guide you when you learn how to allow it...

Happines is an emotion. One day you can be happy and the next day you can be sad. Happiness is only temporary, people can make you happy and the same person can make you sad, but Joy is what sustains you. Joy is not an emotion, and you can always have Joy no matter what circumstance or situation you come across. The only way to recieve this Joy is by receiving Jesus Christ into your heart as Lord and Savior. Jesus came that our joy can remain full. You have to make the decision to trust in Jesus Christ and allow His Joy to remain in you.

Yes! You have to conscientiously decide to be happy. You cannot make someone else happy, it's a personal choice. Your life may be hectic, but look what blessings you have! Be thankful for what you have..you can always desire to have more someday.

We all crave for some kind of a perfection.. That's possibly an animal instinct, so that's from where happiness comes from...
But of course there is no such thing as perfection... So you probably had too big goals that you achieved and then saw that they weren't the way you imagined them.. That leads to disappointment..
You should enjoy in small things :)

I would def. take some "me time" watch a quick show you like. Reward yourself for all your hard work you do. Its poss that people will or will not make you happy. IF something isn't making you happy, maybe you need to cut it out of your life, like for example you hate your job, you should find a new one.

Formula of Happiness:
Happiness = What you have / # of desires
That's what you have "divded by" # of desires.
Reduce your desires to gain more happiness!
