What makes you think anyone wants to read your brand of wisdom or humor? It would be more appropriate to write real estate ads. at least you would get paid for those.

I have three novels published and working on number 4.

Nobody 'wants to write a book', people who write MUST write a book. But, as you are learning, this is not so easy.

Three rules here:

1/ Write for yourself and only yourself. It is NOT a movie. Don't write it like it is.

2/ Read the greats and see how they did it.

3/ Apply butt to seat and stay there 'til the book is done.

Give yourself five years for your first book. Then, if you want to get it published (there is absolutely NO guarantee you will be published), find a specialised agent dedicated to your genre. Then, be prepared to spend another two years following his/her instructions as to how to change your manuscript for the market (this is essential). Then, if you are extremely lucky, maybe, just maybe, a publishing house will give you a call for a chat.

Only about 0.2% of all books ever written made it to the shelves.

Good luck.
