The system hung and refused to shutdown or restart. So I removed the battery and replaced it. On pushing the power button, all the lights come on but nothing happened. And no, it is not a monitor problem or a hardisk or processor (it has a intel M) problem. All 3 are working perfectly.

Check your BIOS on settings to remove the last hibernation file. Also try hitting F8 on boot up and go into Windows Safe Mode.

try power off and on
