Go to freeware files.com and convert your videos to MPG4 which is the only format supported by the IPOD or PSP. Jodix free IPOD converter is one of the better ones but their are plenty to chose from. Once thats done open itunes and have the entire folder that have your converted movies added to itunes and the next time you sync the movies will automaticly be added to the movies tab.

Itunes can convert your avi files, or you can get a converter which can have better results
