Switch to Verizon's America's Choice plan and enjoy free nights and weekends with no roaming or long distance charges (Gosh I sound like a commercial don't I?). Also with Verizon's new every 2 guarantee you get a free phone every 2 years or credit you can use towards a new phone. Verizon is America's most reliable network because it invests $4 billion annually to upgrade its technology.

Well, when you get down to it NEARLY all the companies are the same. Now in certain areas of the country, like in the San Antonio, Texas area, we have POCKET and CRICKET companies. These two companies off UNLIMITED MINUTES, NO CONTRACT, for just a flat fee of $27 a month. You can not beat that. Plus at $37. you add UNLIMITED text messaging, free long distance calling, 3 way calling, and caller ID. Again, the more features the more money, But their $37 is the best. When my Sprint Contract is up, I plan to change. Of course if they come out with a decent PDA phone in the next 18 months, I will pay Sprint off and change.

No way to get free minutes except when you call after 9 PM and on the weekends. Check your area yellow pages to see if they have a CRICKET like company starting up. Never know.

Honestly I go through a lot of phones and the best carriers as far as minutes, customer service and customer satisfaction (For me) were cingular and verizon.....Even consumer report rates these higher than t mo...but really it can vary depending on where you live.. and it depends on how you use your phone..if you talk to people who have the same service as you its free (usually!)

I save a lot on mine by picking up my voice mails on off-peak hours. I also get boat-loads of minutes on weekends so, I save my long/ catch-up calling for then.

Driving while on the phone is dangerous and also you lose track of how long you're on...listen to your iPod while driving and save the phoning for when you're out of the car : )
