I have been patient... I'm in my late 20s... I know I'm still young, but I am a busy single mom, and I can not do school much longer. I have a long way to go, and it's just bringing me stress. I want an attainable goal or I will just drop out of college because I have had enough. It will take me a lifetime to finish. Please don't tell me to continue with my Bachelor's in mind.

Do you have enough credits to attain your AA? I would say at least get that far so you have a better chance at landing a good job. There are also career schools that can fast-track you. Check out online programs, too. These offer much more flexibility and may allow you more time with your family.

It's pretty hard to speculate here because I have no idea what career path you want to follow. I know school is hard -- especially when you have little ones -- but think of them and what more you can give them by having an education. Having said this, please know that I know what you're going through. I cried every single day of my last semester, but when I had that degree in my hand, it was the greatest feeling in the world.

Keep your chin up and good luck!

First I don't think by you dropping out you'll be flipping burgers, that's BS. I'm not flipping burgers, granted I haven't dropped out...yet, but I still get paid well enough to own a 3/2 home.

What you should do is go to a school that has an accelerated degree program like a Vocational School. You could have a Bachelor's in Business in 15 months. Or try nursing, your CDA (Child Care), or even culinary.

There is no need for you to complete a Bachelors at this point. To me, it sounds like you need something faster, and which will allow you to make a decent salary, yes?

You have two choices. You can try to find an accelerated BA program, and transfer. It's worth looking into. Often, depending on how many credits you'll transfer in, you'll attend class one night per week (a very long night), and graduate in as little as two years.

A more attainable goal may be to get your Associates instead. You can always go back later for your BA. Again, if a lot of your credits transfer, you could graduate in as little as a year.

With an Associates degree, your best chance of obtaining a strong job right after graduation is if you major in something directly related to an occupation. In fact, often the associates is your ticket into the profession. I'll list only a few examples.

- Lots of careers in the medical field only require a 2-year degree. Nursing, radiology, medical assistant, physician's assistant, laboratory technician, several others. RNs, for example, are highly in demand in my area, and the entry salary is good.
- Many office-related careers require an associates. Try office administration: administrative assistant, legal secretary, marketing assistant, sales operations.
- Information technology. There are some IT jobs that require only a 2-year degree, like computer support technician.
- Accounting: Also some in accounting, like accounts payable processor, claims administrator.

And here are a bunch of others, all of which hire directly out of associates programs (although for many, you'll do an internship/apprenticeship while you get your associates)

-Automotive technology
-Electrician
-Childcare
-Engineering technician
-Funeral director
-Paralegal
-And a lot in the agricultural sciences, such as turf management (graduates of strong turfgrass management associates programs can work on a golfcourse and earn HUGE money), aboriculture, forestry, fruit tree management.
-Drafting
-Law enforcement
-Fire safety

The path you select is up to you, and depends on your interests. But if getting that BA in the way you've been trying to is going to take forever, it may be better to stop what you're doing and instead investigate these two options: transferring to an accelerated BA program, or to a career oriented Associates program.

Good luck.
