Don't let a movie make a great name seem bad. Think about it, if every villian's name had an evil connotation who would still name their kids Michael, Jason, or Freddy. Just tell your parents Damian is Greek and actually means "sweet and harmless." If you are really hung up on it though maybe you can try Darrien or Dorien instead. Good luck!

I love the name Damian. If my last child would have been a boy his name would have been Damian Michael. A lot of people refer to movies for their thoughts on names There was "Damian The Omen Two" but in the " Excorcist " father "Damian" was the priest. Don't be caught up by the movie "hype" if you like it go for it. I think it is a great name. There are many more "sinister" names in movies. We could eventually eliminate most names if we used that criteria.

Well it literally means 'To tame, subdue' which is nothing at all evil. So it's only the connatation everyone else gives it.
I think you shouldn't worry to much about it if you do really like it. But do be careful. I personally like the name but wouldn't name a child it because i'd worry they'd get picked on or have people be wary of them. But then it's just as likely by the time they are older, people won't remember the films and the name will just be another in the crowds. It's really your choice.

Damian (or Damien) is a good name... don't let a silly movie decide your child's name for you. What if they had named the omen boy John? Would that name be completely eliminated b/c of that movie? No way...

Saint Damian was a priest in Hawaii. The Omen has tarnished a respectful christian name. Oops, not a saint yet.

I like it. I have a cousin named Damian. I think it's a good name because it's not as commonplace as Tom or John or Dave; it's
different---but in a good way. Good luck!

I love it. Definately. It's a great name, and there aren't many people called Damian either so it's more unique.

You could change the spelling if you like. a girl at work named her son Damyen. That's cute. Or you could play it safe and go for something similar, like Damon or Darien. But,really, i think Damian is fine.
