I like it and normally I like names spelled with a K instead of a C. But in this case to keep it masculine I would use the C. Caelan is in my baby name book under Boy and is a form of the name Nicholas. I know how you feel with people telling you that the "boy" name you have picked out if feminine, even though is is a boys name. A couple of weeks ago i asked about Adison and the replies were crazy saying it was a girls name even though it means "son of Adam". Ignore what some might say about his masculinity being tainted by his name, he will make the name not visa versa.

I like the spelling of it. I'm not too sure that it sounds like a boy name out loud. It makes me think of this girl named Kaylin. It's okay if it's said Kalin, but I don't like Kaylin. Good Luck!

I asked the same question yesterday. I love the name for a boy, but it's classified as a girl name. I was worried about the "Kaelyn's" in his classroom so hubby and I nixed that name. Although, it historically has been a boy name (Irish) and means skinny lad. Last time I checked a lad meant a boy not a girl...

Is it pronounced Colin?
My brother in law's name is Cailean pronounced Colin and I love the name. It is the Gaelic spelling of the name Colin, and it is so unique.
I really like the name, both spelled his way and the way you listed. Unique!

When I looked it up it only came up as a girl name that meant skinny. But I suppose it would still work, it is so unusual that you could start a new trend. My sons name is ryan which now is becoming a popular girls name.

I have a girl named Kaylan Brooke, so I am partial. But I do indeed believe it is a very neutral name.

No. About 100 other boy and girl names start with the K sound and end with the N sound, and they all sound exactly the same.
