Might be a stupid question, but why do Barbie dolls have two dates - one on their backs and one on their head?

maybe the date that piece was done... is not like the barbie comes out complete figure

I would guess that they are made at two different times/machines, and they just stamp anything they make with the date at the time of manufacturing.

I don't know which is which, but I think one date is when the certain model of Brabie was first made and the other date is when that one you have was made.
