Would it be too impractical to believe I can return to work a week after surgery? I sit at a computer most of the day...
Personal experiences would be most helpful.
My surgery is scheduled for March 13th.

I am 48 years old, in good health, and this is my 5th knee surgery (over a 15 year period) on the same knee (Dr's have been reluctant to do a TKR due to my age...) I currently have a Unispacer Implant in the affected knee.

Yes, although your healing process will depend on your age, health etc you probably won't be able to do much for atleast a month. My grandma (whos 70) had hers done in October and it still gets very sore often.
You'll probably stay in the hospital for a good week, so don't count on going back to work for a good 4ish weeks after that.
You could try to make other arrangements with your work. See if they will allow you to work from home on a laptop or something, then you can go at your own pace.
**MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR EXERCISES THAT THEY GIVE YOU! if you don't, eventually your knee will be like you didn't have the surgery. And your knee will feel better faster if you keep them up.

Your surgeon will be the best person who can answer this question. Once you are discharged, you may not have any problem with your job.
