In your browser's menu bar, click on Tools and go to options...you can set the homepage address in from there...and then apply the change to save it...

• Go to the Web page that you would like to make your home page.
• Open the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
• Under Home page, click Use Current.
(By the way Ctrl+D adds link to ur favorites dosent set it as ur home page. as far as i know we dont have a Keyboard Shortkut for this)

go to control panel internet options and there will be a slot for selecting home page so just put http://www.the site name.com and bingo its done
