Because they don't know. This is a place where people give their best response, and it should not be expected that all people will know the answer. At least they try. It's up to the poster of the question to descern what is right and what is wrong.

If somebody knows the "correct" answer, they feel constrained to give the truth. But if they don't know, there is no such constraint.
Part of the learning process is learning to recognize the truth when you see it. Besides, if you don't like a Yahoo answer, you can get your money back (lol).
By the way: "nothing stands still in the universe"? Not so -- everything stands still, just not each thing at the same time. It's just that for humans, with our limited brains and computers, it is easier to express the equations of motion "as if" there was some stationary reference point. It is quite possible to express the orbits of the planets and the Sun as going around the Earth; it's just that the equations are a lot simpler if you use the Sun, or better yet, the solar system barycenter.
But just because the equations are simpler, doesn't make them "true" or "false". It just makes them easier to compute. And for some purposes, it is easier to say that the Sun stands still.

To not answer your question in any way would be point...less. Having the Internet at your own fingertips should be clue enough to find answers from more reputable resources. Asking people for a trusted site seems more reasonable than expecting them to do your homework for you.One of the most valuable lessons in school is teaching students how to use reliable resources instead of always depending on others. Now that's using "your" head.

I actually saw that same question and I was shocked by the stupidity of the answers. The question wasn't even phrased right. I think they just want points. I am 13 and I seem smarter than most people in the place.

Yahoo! Answers is constructed so that *any* answer is rewarded with points, even if wildly incorrect. There is no downside to answering, unless it violates a rule of etiquette.

Point gaming.
What would be REALLY scary is if these morons actually believed what they're posting.
Says a lot about the youth and current intelligence level of humanity.
