How do I paint fiberglass? Is it a complicated procedure? What kind of paint do I use and can I have it colored matched?

Will paint from Home Depot or Lowes (which color matches well) work?

You should use a marine paint, not something from HD. Fiberglass can be painted and in fact often is for great finishes. Hatteras Yachts among others paints their fiberglass yachts straight from the factory. It takes alot of prep work to get the surface ready for paint but when done right its awesome.

A fiber glass production boat will have a colored jell-coat usually of the whitish tone or cream color , you can can have it re -painted , done professionally with a new coat of fiber glass jell-coat of a similar color , if you want to apply it your self , after removing oxides and any wax present on the surface like a car you can have it sprayed , but use epoxy paint it will stick very well and is strong , don't use any enamel paints won't last long , you can also brush with epoxy paints but it will live a bit of brush lines , your best bet is have it sprayed .
