F1 drivers of today are so boring and characterless compared with the drivers of the past - they are merely extensions to corporate marketing departments rather than sportsmen.

There have been many fine people involved in F1 through the years but I think my favourite has to be Stirling Moss. Not only is he still a great driver, he is an impeccable gentleman who always has time to chat to fans.

I met him at Brands Hatch in 1989 and he patiently stood for photos with me and my friends and chatted about the race he had been in.

The measure of the man is in the fact that policemen in England still occasionally ask speeding motorists sarcastically "Who do you think you are then? Stirling Moss??" - even though he was never World Champion and even though Britain has had five different World Champions since he retired.

At the moment Alonso. Never before have I seen such a finished product at such a young age. To me he stands above everybody else at the moment. Kimi is fast however he is always on the ragged edge in order to do so, this is why he makes more mistakes and why his car always blows up more often than his team mates. Alonso has incredible speed combined with pure ice in his veins. Witness Imola 2005 and Istanbul 2006 where despite incredible pressure from arguably the Greatest driver of all time (Schumi) he still managed to come out in front. He like Schumacher wins races that he shouldn't due to supreme race craft. Of all time though I love Senna, so much speed, so much talent, such a loss to Formula 1

Michael Schumacher!!! The best racing driver in the history of motorsport. By best i mean statistically the most dominant driver. You cannot dispute the statistics. 91 career victories, 7 WDC's... the man is not human. He is the reason I got up at 2 A.M to watch F1 races. And we Germans take pride in what he has accomplished.

Michael Schumacher - an all time great (yes, he's not always done the right thing) but no-one can deny his skill. He's had the dedication and has been lucky enough to drive with great teams so achieved so much. Don't know who I'll support this year - F1 just won't be the same without him though...

It has to be Kimi Raikkonen. I think that he is the gift of F1. He doesn't say much (beacuse he doesn't have to) and he just gets the job done. No B.S., no excuses, no real drama. He just gets the job done. He never really complains about things, and when things go wrong, he just shrugs it off and worries about the next race. He is unfazed by competition. I think that McLaren dropped the ball with Kimi. People say that he can't develop a car. I can see that, but realistically, that is what you have test drivers for. Just give him a car and let him do his thing.

Kimi "Ice Man" Raikkonen....
The Ice man cometh.....

Senna and Alonso.

Shumacher is totally overrated because all his titles with Ferrari were with the best car in the grid. If it wasnt for Shumacher being No 1 ant Ferrari at that time we would be talking about a 5 times champion Barrichello how true and ridiculous sounds that.

Besides Shumacher has proved a lot of times in his career that he is a cheater and a scumbag. ask gilles, damon and alonso.
