I love roses but I can't plant large bushes around my condo. I need a smaller rose that can be grown in pots if at all possible. My plot gets morning through early afternoon sun. It faces north-east. I live inSaint Louis Missouri, U.S.A. What's some of my options?

I took five miniature rose bushes and planted them in a zinc washtub. The display was most spectacular.

The only thing to remember is that roses need to go into dormancy in order to thrive the following year. They cannot be grown inside the home. In the fall prune the roses back to about 4" and leave them exposed to the elements all winter.

You should have many years of glorious mini roses that way!

I've never heard of a growning rose bush. Sounds pretty scary.

You can actually buy special Patio roses that have been specifically been breed to be in pots in hot areas on verandahs etc. Ask your local nursery about these or check mail order catalogues.
