Eh, it's all a matter of opinion. Personally, I love those kids. But different people like different things.
As far as the "sell out" thing, every GOOD band will eventually make it to MTV or be played on the radio. I hate kids who instantly loathe a band because they're on MTV. I mean, obviously they're there for a reason. They're not going to stay your secret forever.
Their first CD... Evening Out With Your Girlfriend?
If that's the CD you're talking about, then I disagree with you completely. That is a horrible CD, to be honest. I love Fall Out Boy and they are my favorite band, but I admit that is a pretty bad CD. The beat and such never match up, and the lyrics are pretty bad, too.
If you meant Take This To Your Grave, then I completely agree with you. That is one awesome record. Or, you might even mean From Under the Cork Tree, which was a decent record.
I definately disagree with you about Infinity on High. It is one amazing album. It has shown so much growth from even From Under the Cork Tree, let alone EOWYG.

EOWYG=Good.
TTTYG=Kick ***
FUTCT=Decent.Acceptable.They couldve done better but the lyrics were gr8.
IOH=Different. So extremely different from all their other albums. The first tym i listened to the album i hated it and i wanted 2 throw it in the bin but then it grew on me so yeah. i dont think they are sellouts. what do u expect their really go0d they cant help it that they got all popular and mainstream.

ah they're not that bad. everyone has a different taste. i don't like them much. the new album has good beats. lyrics do suck though. i like songs with meaning and fall out boy doesn't do that.
