There is a wonderful saying that goes something like 'Those who are truly rich are those who want everything they have; not those who have everything they want." (and that is not the exact quote; so i apologize for that).

Those who fight for power, struggle to climb the ladder to great heights of business titles, harden their hearts in order to become rich to the point that they can never use all of the money yet they do not donate much of it to charity ... these are people who find themselves lacking on the interior so they seek to achieve on the exterior. They may put on a brave face to the world; they may even come across as cocky or tough or downright mean, but they are insecure and unsure about *who* they are. And, because they do not feel they have any value as a person, they fill that hole in their life with *what* they can achieve (many times stepping on the heads of others and not looking back) of monetary value, possessions, property, and anything else that makes them appear, to the world, to be a success. But they are never successful enough to fill that hole in themselves. What does happen is that the goal of achieving the next "thing" becomes an addictive behavior and they never stop.

There, too, are many who have made a fortune or inherited one, but to look at them or speak with them, you would never know it. They are humble and gracious and giving. These are those who quietly contribute to charitable organizations; they are the ones who anonymously do things to make the lives of others better. They know *what* they have, but they do not need what they have to know *who* they are. They would be the same person tomorrow if they lost all their possessions and money.

Then, there are those who, by the standards of most of the world, appear to have nothing in the way of possessions; yet, this lack of possessions does not bother them in the least. They are still giving and loving and gracious and usually very, very wise. If all they had for food was a bowl of soup and you were hungry, they would share it with you without a second thought and never begrudge you having it.

And you are right; we all will return to the Earth just as we entered into it ~ naked and with nothing in hand. But those who return to it having known *who* they are, who gave to others without crowing about it, who have imparted wisdom and blessed others with knowledge, and who have spent time seeking enlightenment (regardless of their personal spiritual beliefs) so that they might better understand mankind and, by that understanding, share their enlightenment and help mankind to "see" ~ those are the ones who die rich.

The others just die wealthy and leave a legacy of hurt to the people whom they have stepped on, as well as a legacy of people fighting like dogs over that accumulated, left behind wealth before the deceased is even cold.

Unfortunately, too many people believe the adage of "He who dies with the most toys wins."
