I love Leone's films. My favorite is "Once Upon a Time in the West," which I reckon is the best Western EVER. Inspired casting of Charles Bronson as "Harmonica," and strong supporting work by Jason Robards, Claudia Cardinale, and Henry Fonda...as one of the foulest bad guys you'll ever see!
Add to that an inspired score by Ennio Morricone and a phenomenal opening titles sequence...it's a classic.

Yes, he was a master of creating atmosphere, which was more than evident in a Fistful of Dollars. Although it was a remake, it was masterfully done. By the time he got to For a Few Dollars more, his craft was perfected. With music, closeups, excellent plots and bright adequate settings, no one was or has ever been better.
