what is a normal smell?

you know, i had the same question- i think that it does have some odor- especially after an entire day in jeans and sitting and walking- but it definately should not be too strong nor fishy. but Dan D is right about the post period smell. give you body a little time to recoup before you send your boy down south. if it really bothers you- go to the doctor and see what's going on. its always better to know! also, when you are healthy, try smelling or tasting yourself- i know it sounds gross but how else are you going to know when it smells "wrong"?

also- eat healthy foods. drinking, smoking and crap food can contribute to bad smelling "down theres". that saying you are what you eat? not that far off.

if you are keeping in good health, keeping good hygiene, and not suffering from infections or so on, and also not seeing your period(for most women), then your genital area(vagina) should be smelling fresh. (meaning your noes or any one else should be saying you need a bath based on the scent coming from there. Once you have had a bath in the morning before work or school, you should be able to go up until the evening hours still smelling fresh. While for some women, if its close to their time of the month or during their menses they might experience a little smell, thats why it required to change your sanitary at least every three hours and for medical reasons too. Hope this answers your question.

Your genitals (female I'm assuming since you said 'down there') should smell pleasant and mild normally. Pleasant but stronger when aroused. Not so pleasant when menstruating, the blood itself has an odour. Strong smelling, fishy or otherwise unpleasant is not normal and should be check out.

Get to know yourself, by look, feel and scent. Its your body and your health.

Little to no smell. If it stinks bad, its not normal. Could be a sign of an infection.

the smell should be pleasant, not aggressive, and the taste is a bit sweet , but a day or two after menstruation it smells a bit like fish, but after that smells like vaginal secretions which for me anyways is very pleasant.

It should be odorless, if there is a foul smell that means that something is wrong.
