This is a question that is very much determined by someone's opinion, similar to when people would try to compare Walter Payton to Gale Sayers or any other player from different eras.
Sanders was a fairly one dimensional player who relied on quickness and moves to make his yardage. He also had many runs where he lost yardage - probably more than any other RB. He was not real effective within the 10.
Tomlinson, seems to be a more north/south runner who has more than one dimension. Though, he may not be as good of a runner as Sanders, I think his is a better football player and running back than Sanders. I would take him on my team over Sanders

Look LT is one of the greatest backs ever but Barry is so much better.
He had a bad O-line and still managed to be the best of his era.
LT has a better line and a Pro Bowl fullback to run behind as well.
All you have to do is watch an old tape of Sanders and you can make the decision easy. You couldn't bring him down and when he was almost down he still manage to stop his knee from hitting the ground break the 2 tacklers and then go on. Just type in Barry Sanders highlights in any video player and look at all the hits.

tough to answer. LT is one hell of a RB and could go down as the best ever. the thing is, barry sanders played under a bad offensive line and he made the most of what he could with the lions. and plus, barry retired just when he was in him prime so it's like he has an incomplete career.

Barry Sanders is more agile, but LT is the better all around rb. It would be a tougher decision if Sanders would have finished his career but he didn't.

LT is the more versatile back so I'll take him. But Barry Sanders was the man!

Barry Sanders he played without decent line his whole career unlike LT. Barry would have shattered Sweetness rushing record if he wouldn't have retired in his prime.
