can a photo printer be used for regular printing?

i need a regular compact small printer but they are very expensive i need it for my laptop the only small i can find are the pictures printer they are great prices and small can i use them as a regular printer i need it small because i travel with it ...

Yes. All the Photo printers I have seen also take regular ink also. It would be a waste to print regular stuff with Photo Ink. Hope this helped you out.
